Marina

Rated as one of the top ten anchorages in the Western Hemisphere by Motor Boating and Sailing Magazine, Poets Cove Marina offers 110 deep water slips for boats up to 100 feet. With access to restaurants, spa and amenities at the world-class Poets Cove Resort & Marina, the marina also offers impressive features at the dock, including fuel, 30 amp power and a Canada Customs office right in the Harbour.

Your Hosts, Chris and Dave Neely have a wonderful weekend planned for you at this exotic South Pender island resort. Chris and Dave hope you enjoy Poets Cove, the cherished jewel of the Salish Sea.

As you arrive, contact the Harbormaster on Ch 66A.

We will have a fabulous time with much to do as a group and on your own.

Note - There is NO WATER available! Fill your tanks prior

Itinerary:

Friday, August 22 – Arrive at the marina.

4:30 Enjoy light appetizers on the dock provided by the club. BYOB

5:30 Dinner at the Syrens Bistro in the Resort Main Building. Separate checks by couple

Saturday, August 23 – a Day of Play!

8:30 am Light Breakfast on the dock. Fruit, muffins, yogurt, hard boiled eggs.

Bring your coffee

9:30 am Rally with your dinghies. Dinghy over to the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.

Enjoy an invigorating hike up the mountain for an amazing view over the Gulf Islands.

Beaumont Trail linking up with Mount Norman Lookout. 4 miles, 2.5-3 hours

With moderate + elevation gain

12:00 noon - Dinghy Parade through the Cut to Port Browning Pub for lunch

Additional Activities for the afternoon on your own: Things to Do at Poets Cove

3:00 pm Gather at the upper Resort Pool. Chill, visit, sun yourself, enjoy the hot tub.

5:30 pm Happy Hour! Margaritas provided.

6:00 pm Mexican Fix-Your-Own

There will be a Mexican Bar of goodies for you to create your own South-of-the-Border Dinner

7:30 Games on Board – Certain boats will be set up for some fun card games, and we will draw names to see where you go. A little Mix-up Fun!!

Sunday, Aug 24 – Start with a breakfast and head to our next destination.

8:00 am Left-Over Grazing – Be creative with your first meal of the day!

DOGS and other PETS - GHYC Board Ratified: 2023-11-15

It is of utmost importance to GHYC, that we maintain fun and safe environments for members and/or pets on Club cruises and other Club event locations.

Dogs and/or other pets are permitted on cruises and other events unless otherwise noted in event documentation or venue rules.

Where pets are permitted:

When on the dock(s) or in an event area they shall remain on a leash no more than 4 feet in length and under the direct control of the member owner.
Members are responsible for picking up after their pet(s) and disposal of pet waste into proper containers.
Any damage caused by an animal will be the direct responsibility of the owner.
If a pet has a history of aggression toward other pets and/or people, that pet shall be physically restrained when not on the owner’s boat or other secure area.
Owners are responsible to keep their pets under noise control at all times. Excessive barking or other distracting pet noise will not be tolerated especially when the pet is left alone on the owner’s vessel, car or other area.
Pet owners will also adhere to any pet rules/restrictions posted at a marina or other event site.

Registration cancellations will be accepted until Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 11:30 PM

Cancellation Policy:

Any cancellations after 5 days prior to the event will be charged the entire cost of the event up to and including the first nights moorage.
